Philosophy

Brookhaven Retreat is a unique voluntary residential treatment facility for women facing emotional or drug addiction challenges. We understand the nature of addiction is unique. We also understand itâ??s a condition from which recovery begins with what is often the hardest step â?? asking for help. Our gender and age-specific programs are thoughtfully designed to address the special issues women face when confronting these life-changing events -- no matter their age or background. Nestled in 48 secluded acres in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains we draw upon the natural serenity and tranquility of our surroundings to look holistically at the complete needs of each woman coming into our care. Each client is sensitively and confidentially assessed and an agreed care blueprint is developed for them individually. The Brookhaven team is comprised of highly qualified, credentialed professionals from the disciplines of medicine, psychiatry, social work, psychology, therapy, nursing, and counseling. Our staff is trained to work collaboratively in preparing each individual care plan and to integrate it into the Brookhaven programs. Through Brookhavenâ??s front door women find no judgment, no shame. We honor our clients with dignity, respect, love, and hope.
