I literally owe my life to Pacific Hills. Though I had six years in the AA program, attending 7-9 meetings per week, worked with an excellent sponsor, and attended church every week, This year I encountered a series of deep losses within a few months and suffered a complete emotional breakdown and attempted suicide.
Not only did Pacific Hills give me the support and "tools" to live with my disease of alcoholism and encounter a God who heals addicts, but their commitment to dual diagnosis put me on the road to quality sobriety and a peaceful life.
Now, not only do I have a strong personal program - AA, sponsor, prayer life - but have a strong relapse program and support system for my manic depressive condition. And now I have learned that almost all alcoholics have some sort of biological or psychiatric condition accompanying their substance abuse. We self-medicate not knowing there are better non-addictive ways to treat psych issues like depression, anxiety, etc.
Despite the reality that there continues to be stress in my life, I have never been so content and peaceful in my 59 years. Pacific Hills takes the WHOLE person into consideration when they approach treatment; body, mind, spirit and social behavior. I recommend it as a one-of-a-kind program for those who have failed at other treatment approaches.
