Dec of 1989 is my sobriety date. I spent 3 months in the res at the young age of 22. Started drinking and doing drugs at age 11. We have a beautiful daughter and I have a very beautiful wife of ten years. Now I live in a half million dollar home and drive a Lexus. Outside of the money with no college degree. I would say life has been very good to me. Rogers Park is a very tight community and I always look back on the good times. I would not say I am a religious fanatic however I really enjoyed the movie "Luther" and really like what LSSI has done over the past few years. Look for my cup. 12/89 I barely made the requirements. One counselor said yes and the other said no with me obtaining the cup because I got kicked out on the 3 month anniverary for having a argument I think. I still have my cup after all these years. (The cup shows the month and year you entered recovery.) I am really shocked more alumni do not register on this board. I mentioned the material things because I had a counselor that told me one day I would drive a white vet. When men enter the res sometimes material items is the only thing keeping them sober however that too shall pass. What will keep you sober is G.O.D. Good Orderly Direction
