PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
Fountain Springs allows women to enter treatment and be accompanied by up to two children (in most cases, children under the age of 12) throughout the treatment process. Fountain Springsâ?? capacity is 20 women and 22 children. Treatment for the women consists of an intake evaluation and a three phase residential rehabilitation process plus continuing care services. Women have individual and group therapy, life skills training, (including parenting skills development), Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous meetings, in-house academic remediation and assistance for vocational preparation.
Daily care for pre-school children is provided and supervised by the Day Care Supervisor who involves them in various activities. School age children are enrolled in the Ashland public school system. Children also participate in the prevention component. The prevention component includes family sessions, gender specific groups, expressing and coping with feelings, drug and alcohol education, learning steps to emotional growth, and early intervention to penetrate denial of negative feelings within the child.
