I stopped enabeling him and we've been seperated for 21 months with his parents doing the enabeling. He says he's ready to quit and with the help of God and Find help, we will succeed.

I am a 55 year old RN who has lived with a drug addict for 12 years. The last 6 years he's been a crack addict. I have a strong background in Mental Health and am learning about drug addictions. I am the adult child of alcoholics and partake of no drinking or drugs. Been separated now for 21 months from the love of my life. Lost my only sister 10/08/07 to alcohol poisoning. Lost my SIL to drug overdose 12/9/2006. This site has been my only hope and I have learned so much here. God bless the founders.
