I am a nurse and was trained to believe the patient's statement of pain level. My husband started with alcohol, which he said he'd quit when we married. Of course he didn't. Then he 'hurt' his back. Oh what luck he had, a sympathetic wife. When he couldn't 'control' himself with managing his pain medications i was conviently there to administer them properly. He constantlyhad to be 'bumped' up because of tolerance. I bought into that one also. Had no idea he was selling his prescriptions for money to buy crack. Then crack pipes started showing up in our home. I was not born yesterday. But no one would listen to me. I told his parents, doctor and finaly the police. They at least offered to take the crack pipe off my hands and enter a report so I could go to the doctor and stop the vicious circle. That was just the beginning of the end. His sister overdosed and died last December. NOW his parents believed me. He lives with them now and they are his enablers now, not me. Living with mom and dad at age 50. Go figure. After searching the net for 10 mnths I have finally found this fantastic place with more information in one place at one time than all my months of searching put together. I am amazed and most grateful. Chris
