Today's been rough so far. I got into a car accident yesterday and all i wanted to do was get high. I didn't , thank God, but I hate that I still feel that. It drives me nuts. I been clean only 4 a short time, but it's been ok. i go to an IOP, it's only 2 days a week tho. I love it there. The people are awesome there. Well, that's all for now. Just needed 2 vent.  = )

Fear that the pregnancy will interfere with continuing to use alcohol and drugs, and that the child could have fetal alcohol syndrome or deformities then drives the addict to choose an abortion. As a result, one can conclude that addiction can cause abortions.

Feelings of guilt and remorse frequently occur after abortion and sometimes alcohol and drugs are used to medicate these feelings. Medicating bad feelings for an extended period of time can lead to addiction. Thus it can also be concluded that abortion can lead to addiction.

There is no way to know how many addicts decide to have abortions or how many people become addicts as a result of abortion. What we do know is that there have been 48 million abortions in the last 35 years and if you believe that life begins before birth, then there have been 48 million deaths as a result of these abortions. Even if you don’t believe that life begins before birth there are still 48 million women and close to that number of men who have been profoundly impacted by the abortion decision. I suspect that the percentage of this group who became addicts is much higher than it is for the general population.

 

I know that abortion is a very contentious issue with less than half the population feeling strongly about pro life and more than half feeling the same passion about pro choice. While the nation is divided between the pro life and pro choice positions, I don’t believe that the pro life group wants to curtail women’s rights in general nor do I believe that the pro choice group thinks abortion is a good thing. I believe that the majority of us would like to see abortions reduced or even eliminated except in rare cases.

a private party with 1,000 closest friends, drugs, and alcohol - then declare success and rehabilitation from addiction.  This is ludicrous and not the way in which real drug rehabs operate.  I have no doubt that the large majority of these celebrities going into drug rehab have no real interest in staying sober, and that kind of attitude won't bring about recovery in any treatment center.
But for those who believe the actions of the few represent the behaviors of all drug rehab centers, this is simply not true.  With the dedication to get and stay sober, most treatment centers work absolute magic in maintaining sobriety, keeping substances out of the center, and keeping order and structure.  Drug rehab is not a vacation and at the same time, it is not a prison. 
Good drug rehab centers employ means to make sobriety fun with a variety of activities and exercises.  Most drug rehabs are good treatment centers and no amount of money will provide special treatment to give means for relapse and inappropriate behavior.  No level of celebrity can override the rules and regulations of the rehab facility.  No one addict is any more entitled than another, just as no one human is more entitled than another.
It's a shame to me that drug rehabs are getting a bad rap because of  a couple who have bowed to celebrity and money over  the gift and blessing of sobriety and if it were up to me, I would have the licenses of these drug rehabs revoked.  People should not be in this industry unless the number one priority is always helping addicts to heal.
Reocvery is possible with devotion to sobriety and a treatment center who shares the same vision of healing.
