One of my best friend's uncles has been in and out of jail for his whole life just because of crack. I can't stand drugs. I have watched so many great girls go from being awesome people to complete whores because of drugs. I just wish people weren't stupid enough to let them control their lives. I'm glad you stopped when you did.

Addiction is a very powerful thing to overcome. It takes long term treatment and an excellent support system. When you hear the phrase "Just say no". Don't ignore it, Just say no. Try to encourage people you know who are doing drugs to seek help. Be compassionate. I know that is very hard to do as I have several addicts and jailbirds in my family also. Telling an addict you believe in them, that they can recover, can make a difference and that person could be you.

Overcoming addiction has to be one of the hardest things in life to do, it's basically like going to hell and back. If one can overcome addiction, who knows what else they can accomplish.
