Joomla 1.5 to 1.0 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 3  
I have a question for you since your site is Joomla! I know this is off topic for the forum. I switched my site over to 1.5 version and after playing around with it for a day or two and getting it dialed in, I find out that the components and mods that I want to add to it do not support 1.5 in fact most of them will not work. My question is do you think it's possible to downgrade to 1.0?

Hi Lowster... Thank's for being such a helpful member of the community... yes it's off topic, but I"m happy to be of any assistance I can...

The answer is yes, it is possible to downgrade from 1.5 to 1.0.x... I understand your situation, I have dealt with it myself. If the functionality is worth the work to redo your site in 1.0.x, then by all means do it... It is true that many of the best joomla components aren't yet 1.5 compatible... You just have to be good with SQL... not great, but have to have some working knowledge at least to be able to export your user tables and import them into the older verson etc. etc.

I was using Community Server 2007 but got tired of all of the warnings from Google Tools about duplicate content and title tags, so I decided to take the plunge and switch from Windows server to Linux. Joomla 1.5 is a free quick application offered by my host as well as many others that they offer. I was so impressed by the look and features of your site and easy navigation that I just had to be a copycat and install it on mine.

Thanks Chris. I'm honored that you like the site. This is not a standard Joomla installation, there are many customizations to the code of the components in this site, including a number of completely custom applications.
