Hi Thestain, first of all, thank you for getting the discussions started

As the Forums are brand new, It's going to take a little time to get them ramped up, and for members to get used to the forum system (and the personal blogging system, and the treatment directory rating and review system, and the my invites/google adsense system, and...).
In my experience in this field, and my experience with the 50,000+ visitors this site gets per month, I've interacted with hundreds, maybe even thousands of crack addicts and family members of crack addicts over the years.
What I've found is that the crack addiction's hold on the addict isn't that different from some of the other "hard" drugs - they're all amazingly difficult to get off, and they're all amazingly difficult to stay off. Nevertheless, crack addicts
can and
do get sober, however it doesn't happen magically, and even the greatest treatment in the world can't work for someone if they don't work for it. Frankly, I find that heroin addicts have a more difficult time in general.
