Addiction is a progressive, and dangerous disease which, when left untreated, can lead to devastating consequences including death. There is no cure for addiction and it's widespread effects, but with proper treatment, addiction can be controlled so that addicts can live a healthy and productive life in recovery. This website is dedicated to informing the public about addiction and addiction treatment and we strive to make this terrible disease more understandable, making the chances of addiction rehabilitation success greater with a higher understanding.

Meth Addiction

Meth is both mentally and physically addictive and poses very dangerous threats to the addict and all those around.  Becuase of it's entirely synthetic production, meth abuse is often coupled with very severe behavioral changes and severe brain damage including meth induced psychosis.  Meth addiction started in rual areas and quickly spead to more urban areas, destroying lives as it spreads.  The following article discusses meth abuse, addiction, treatment and recovery. Prescription Drugs

Percription Drug addiction has become a growing social concern over recent years with more widespread recreational use of prescription medications falling in the opiate and benzodiazepine classes of drugs.  Common opiate prescription addictions come from drugs like OxyContin, Vicodin, Norco, Dulaudid, and Methadone.  These medications are intended to be used to relieve moderate to severe pain, but their euphoric side effects have created numerous cases of addiction throughout our society.
Benzodiazepine prescription addiction is also a grpwing problem in society.  Commonly abused, and very addictive benzdiazepines include Xanax, Valium, Ativan, and Klonopin. Typically prescribed as sleep aids or relief from anxiety or seizure concern, benzodiazepines are highly addictive given their sedating effects.
