My son was released from this facility WORSE than when he arrived! The staff at Seven Hills released my son in a self destructive, incoherent state. He was left in the lobby with a bus pass because he was too incoherent to call family to come pick him up...Because this is a "private" facility the staff said they can release at any time, for any reason. Evidently this includes releasing people when they are a danger to themselves. Once I did realize he was being released I went to pick him up, took him home and watched him as he fell down the stairs and was unable to speak. He was delusional, unsure of where he was and having hallucinations. After realizing that he was beyond my care I called an ambulance...once he arrived at the ER the emergency room doctor put him on a 72 hour psychiatric, legal hold! After nearly 24 hours in the ER where a private and state social worker BOTH deemed him a danger to himself, he was taken by ambulance to Spring Mountain Psychiatric hospital, where, after 5 days of proper care, his state of confusion has cleared and he is beginning his road to recovery. Spring Mountain plans to keep him for a minimum of 2 weeks in order to get his medication correct! Seven Hills released him after 4 days!!!! This facility is a disgrace...letting any mentally ill person leave the way they sent my son out is shameful. Where are the medical ethics???? Don't walk away from this facility....RUN!

I went here because I was prescribed a painkiller by my doctor about a year ago and my wife and agreed that the amount of pills I was taking was too many and there had to be another way. I wanted to stop while under the supervision of a medical staff that was familiar with the withdrawal symptoms.
Dr James Vilt seemed to be at least compassionate and knowledgeable while he was there. The was one aid/worker named Amanda that tried to make you feel comfortable. I guess there were a few others that were not that bad, but at least 75% of the staff was unhelpful and rude.

Day 1 I was taken in and shown to my bed which I would describe as a piece of wood with a 1 inch mattress and 1 very small pillow. I was not told of any procedures or rules other than here is your room, put your clothes here. They did not tell me where to get shower towels or what to expect of the day.
Other than your room that you share with someone, there is the "rec room" which contains 1 TV, 2 couches, and about 5 chairs. You can go outside to smoke and stare at the basketball hoop, but no basketball.
Lights out at 11 pm.
Anyone that has gone through any detox knows that the only relief you really get is when you sleep. So to have my all the lights turned and without knocking or some type of warning at 4 am to take my blood was very annoying. Staring at the ceiling for the next 2 hours until 6 am which is when you come out of your room was what I did next. (I didn't have a roommate till day 2 so I was woke at 4 am the next day too,)

Day 2 Was given another patients medication at 6am. The nurse called my name, I walked up to the counter and put the pills in my mouth and she just looked at me. She didn't say word but I knew something wasn't right so spit out all of the medcations on the counter. I was right. The medication I had in my mouth was for another patient getting water, but she was just going to let me swallow.

Day 3 When you first get admittted, you basically agree to stay at least 72 hours, so I started to tell anyone that would listen that I would be leaving the next morning which be exactly 72 hours. Thats when I would get responses like, why are quitting, or I don't know about that. All I knew was, I was leaving whether they liked it or not.

Final morning I woke up and reminded the nurse on duty that my wife was coming at noon to pick me up and I would be leaving. She told me I should call her back because they still had to do some things before I could go. This was at 7 am and I was leaving at noon. I told them that I would not call her and they better do whatever they needed to do. Finally, a nurse named Sherry or Cherry came to and asked me to fill out a questionnaire that rated the staff and facility. I just circled excellant on everything so I could just go.

Final straw I was given a prescription for patch to put on my back for pain. The pharmacy said that they need the doctors prior authorization to fill it. After calling him and the pharmacy about 10 times, I just gave up.

So if you want to go somewhere that will make you never want to come back, then go to seven hills bi, but if you want my advice, if the withdrawal symptoms are diarrhea, cold sweats, etc. (non-life-threatening), I would just stay on your couch at home for a few days. The days will go by much faster and you get NOTHING from this place to make you feel comfortable.
