For those that are are serious about sobriety, our Recovery House "Cornerstone" could be the next step. With one staff person for every three residents, the Cornerstone resident will receive the direction and supervision that will help insure a a process for successful recovery. Cornerstone residents will participate in multiple weekly group sessions including Big Book study group, morning meditation, on site and local 12 step meetings, as well as individual counseling sessions. Residents are also introduced to a higher level of structure and accountability. The staff will interact with the residents on a more personal level. The resident manager also oversees the performance of daily assignments and assists in developing individual vocational skills, along with helping facilitate community volunteer opportunities. Since many of our residents come from all parts of the country, the helpful people at Cornerstone are here to make the transition to St. Paul's wonderful recovery community as easy as possible. The typical length of stay is ninety days. Then, often times, the Cornerstone resident will move on to one of Transition Homes' neighboring sober residences for a continued stay in a supportive environment. This path to recovery is one that has proven to be far more effective than that of the national average.
