Beachway Therapy Center and its staff were excellent!!! I felt welcomed and relieved from the moment I arrived. I spent three short months at Beachway. I completed all three phases at Beachway. After six months on my own I am still sober, happy and moving forward with my life. The way of life I was taught at Beachway was just what I needed. I knew I was not headed in the right direction. My life was a mess and I was miserable. I am forever grateful to Matthew, the therapist and tech's at Beachway. I brought a ton of wreckage with me. I felt hopeless. They took the time to listen to me whenever I needed to be heard. More importantly they taught me about life and showed me how to live it. I would recommend Beachway Therapy to anyone who has a desire to get sober!!!

My husband spent 60 days with the wonderful Beachway Therapy Center Staff. I am forever grateful to everyone there. They always took the time to answer my questions. His therapist Meryl took time ever week to call me. She not only helped Travis, but she changed my life as well. Travis and I are moving forward not only in our lives, but in our relationship as well. For the first time in a long time we are a family. My children, his parents, Travis and I will never forget the staff at Beachway. We highly recommend this facility. Travis had gone to other programs in the past. None of them worked for him. The atmosphere at Beachway and the one on one care he got was just what he needed.
Thank you,

My life was in shambles. I had been drinking and doing drugs in the MD/DC area for several years from early teens to late twenties. I had been to other treatment facilities before with no success. At age 29 I decided that I would try it one last time before I turned 30. I found Beachway Therapy Center online with a few references, and found it to seem more professional and organized then any others I have seen or been to. On top of that, it's in Florida. I said to myself that this was the place for me to recover from my drug and alcohol addiction.
Nervous as I was, I packed a few things, got on a plane and met the very welcoming arms of Stephen and Zana at the Ft. Lauderdale airport. They made me feel very comfortable from the minute I met them to the time I got settled and continue, to this day, treat me as a part of their family. The entire staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and comforting. I cannot stress enough how that alone had a big part in my recovery. Rather than being just a number, or a patient, they actually treated me as family and remember my personal needs and situations.
The music and art therapy is exceptional. I couldn't believe how every time we would do art, music, or meditation I would feel a hundred times better then before we started. It would always help me get out of my own head and have a much better day. In addition to these sessions, they also would take us to the beach, the gym several times a week, bowling, and there would be a movie night at the studio for us to all enjoy together. Salt water fishing had to have been my favorite activity though.
In addition to all this, the accommodations are great as well. Its like an apartment with all the amenities. They take you shopping once a week with your included food card, as well as haircuts, doctors appts, and more. Being a chef, I loved the fact that we had a fully stocked kitchen, outdoor grill and they would usually accommodate requests within limits.
In conclusion, I could go on and on about how Beachway Therapy Center and it's employees helped lay a solid foundation for a life long journey of recovery and sobriety. I thank them very much and will admit that I couldn't ever have done it without them. Bottom line, Beachway saved my life.

Beachway and everyone who works there is awesome. I have been home for 3 months now and my life just keeps getting better. Before I went to Beachway I had lost my job, the respect of my friends and family. Now I am working again and taking 2 classes at night. I have some amazing new friends in my life and my family is back in my life. Everyday isn't easy but I do it one day at a time. I still call Matthew from time to time to get advice. He is always there for me and takes the time to talk to me. All I can say is thank you.

Beachway was the BEST. Saved my life. I didn’t want to go to rehab, but I had nowhere else to turn. Everyone was done with me and I had give up on myself. From the moment I got there I was treated with respected and I could tell that they truly cared about me. It wasn’t always easy, but what a huge change it has made. I have a new life now and I’m forever grateful.

I was trudging down the road of life destroying everything in my path when I came to a fork in the road which required me to make a decision. The decision was either to get help or die and as easy of a choice as it may seem, I am an alcoholic and a drug addict so It took many years in the life to get me to see that I did indeed need help but the question was where? I had previously tried a facility around my house in Chicago in the middle of winter and it did not work out so I knew it would be scary yet necessary to get away from the midwest. I thought it would be nice to go to a warm climate so why not Florida? After speaking to a couple of different places I felt most comfortable with Beachway and in no time flat I was 1,000 miles from home with hope to find new life!

It was tough coming such a long way to treatment but Beachway made me feel welcome the moment I stepped off the plane. I chose to come to Beachway mostly because of their small size and intimate atmosphere that was described to me and I was not let down. I was very surprised at how nice our residence was and knew I had come to the right place. The place we stayed in was clean, updated, and most importantly provided an excellent atmosphere for the recovery I was looking for. I started to build relationships with the other clients I stayed with quickly due to the atmosphere provided and know I will forever hold a special place for them in my heart. I have not met a nicer group of people than those who work at Beachway. Everybody from the techs to the counselors have been outstanding both in and out of the "classroom" and I truly owe them my life.

The sessions at Beachway are great. I had an to opportunity to learn so much about myself and my addictions through the diverse groups Beachway offers. My favorite group probably was the psycho-drama classes but banging on some bongo drums wasn't to bad either! The counselors ran a lot of the groups which really helped me build a relationship with them. I had Matthew as my counselor and today I truly love the man for helping me in ways I can't put into words. It is amazing to see how close I have grown with the staff at Beachway and I credit that to their idea of keeping the community down to a smaller size.

Beachway Therapy consists of a small group of people dedicated to helping addicts like me recover from this dreadful disease and I am eternally grateful. I am enjoying life today without thoughts of drinking or using drugs and a few months back that would have seemed impossible and I owe it all to Beachway. My name is Mike and I am indeed an alcoholic and drug addict from Chicago who came down to Florida looking for a fresh start and thanks to the intimate setting of Beachway Therapy Center I have found it!

Awesome caring people. Taught me a lot about myself and how to live life. I loved music therapy and how interactive everything is. I’ve been to other rehabs where you sit for hours as people talk at you and tell you how messed up you are. That is not this place. It’s never boring and they bring out the best in you. Believe it or not I hated to leave. Thanks everyone, Beachway ROCKS!!!!

This is the best rehab I have ever been to. Being a smaller place they give you a lot of attention. I was able to meet with my therapist whenever I need to. He meet with me and my family and help us to fix our relationship. I am so grateful for that. I had done a lot of things to them I wish I could take back. Will, my therapist, helped us all to got past the past. I’m taking the time to write this so I can let everyone know that Beachway is the best.

Beachway was the BEST. I was so lucky to find this place. I can’t begin to explain how much my life has changed. I had been doing Roxy’s for four years. I had gotten kicked out of school, my parents were done with me, and I had lost everything I had. I’m so lucky that my parents found Beachway. I have been clean now for almost 5 months. I am back in college and doing well. I have a sponsor and life keeps getting better. Thank you Beachway.

If you want help this is the place for you. I came here desperate. I was just done with my old way of life. I had no idea how I was going to do it or what I needed to do. This place and the people here were just what I needed. The small size was perfect. I felt at home from day one. The relationships I formed with others here and the staff were a huge part of my success. I can’t say enough about how thankful I am to have found Beachway. There is no place like this where I am from in Georgia.

I am writing to thank you for a wonderful treatment experience! Terrific therapist Meryl, Dan, Will, Steve, Matthew, and Trevor. The techs especially Brian and Paul were helpful and all way there when I needed someone to talk to, particularly Tamara. But in all I appreciate the time and services provided. I hope to keep in touch with all of you in the coming months and I wish each of you continued success. 3 months sober and counting!!!

Overall I would say that I benefited from the program. There was a constant feeling of being disconnected from the other patients after the groups as we were shuttled to different locations and could not interact which would have helped therapeutically. I was displeased in the amount of contact that I had with my counselor. I was led to believe that I would see her (Meryl) frequently however, it averaged an hour a week and sometimes it was the beginning of one week and the end of the next which was the same as once every two weeks. I received VERY LITTLE personal and/or emotional progress from my counselor (Meryl), almost all of the progress came from the others in the groups and the techs. Dixie was an excellent counselor and when Meryl left and she took over, I did receive some support from her. There were a number of things that I was led to believe when I was discussing going there with Steve. Some of what he said was true but the problem arises when you have to try to get someone there to assist you and they pass it on to someone else or tell you to see your counselor. There were several instances where Steve said I would be allow something, and I feel like it was just to get me there. These things turned out to be untrue and I even caught him in a direct lie twice. This is the only treatment center I have been to and I don't know how it rates against the others, but I came out of it much better after almost 60 days and things are good....just for today.

I chose this program cause it seemed to offer a lot of the different options I wanted to see in a treatment center, but it failed to meet my standards and expectations. Beachway Therapy Center was not a highlight of my life, although I'm still searching for a treatment center, I would not recommend Beachway Therapy to anyone that's actually looking forward to leaving a sober life.

I thought for being a smaller center that I would have received more sessions with my therapist but that just was not the case. In six weeks I only met with my therapist 3 times. Not good enough.
